Jazz in the Park: where it all began
Our very first Jazz in the Park — organized with the Charleston Parks Conservancy — drew about 350 neighbors and sparked what's become the Music in the Parks series.
In the fall of 2025, the Harleston Village Association joined forces with the Charleston Parks Conservancy to host our very first Jazz in the Park — and it became the spark for everything that followed.
We hoped for a good turnout. What we got blew us away.
It truly takes a village
An evening like this comes together thanks to a lot of generous people. The series drew 13 sponsors, and 8 of those came together just for Jazz in the Park — neighbors and local businesses who believed a free community concert was worth making happen. King of Pops handed out 238 free popsicles as a combined donation from our ice cream sponsors.
A heartfelt thank-you to the Charleston Parks Conservancy for being such a wonderful partner in organizing, marketing, and bringing the music to life.
The word got around
Jazz in the Park didn’t just fill the lawn — it lit up neighbors’ feeds. Across three posts, the event reached 17,322 views, with 145 shares, 193 interactions, and 20 stories — and that’s before counting the Harleston Neighborhood Association’s own outreach. It was clear this was something people wanted more of.
The start of something
That first night grew into our Music in the Parks series — now spanning three parks and hundreds more neighbors each season. Jazz in the Park is where it all began.
